About Us

White Rock Friends
Serving the community since 1992, White Rock Friends provides essential weekend meals, hygiene products, and support services to individuals living with HIV/AIDS. All client services are provided free of charge.
 
? Programs Offered
  • Saturday Meals Program: Serves a warm lunch to as many as 130 people on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month. This critical kitchen ministry fills the gap when other metro agencies are closed on weekends.
  • General Store Products: Distributes vital personal care items (soap, shampoo, toothpaste) and household cleaning supplies (laundry detergent, bleach, dish soap) to support healthy living.
  • Spiritual & Ministerial Counseling: Pastors are available on-site to offer individual spiritual guidance and support.
  • Referral Network: As a member of the Dallas County AIDS Assistance Network, White Rock Friends helps connect clients with housing, case management, medical/dental care, legal assistance, and children's services.
 
⏱️ Operational Details
  • When: First and third Saturday of every month from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. (Note: Schedule shifts on holiday weekends. Check the White Rock Friends Facebook Page for updates).
  • Where: Owenwood Farm & Neighbor Space (Activity Center), 1451 John West Rd, Dallas, TX 75228. Entrance is located through the back door.

Volunteer Opportunities
Extra hands are always welcome during operational hours to support the General Store and Meals program.
  • Walk-ins are welcome, or you can schedule your volunteer shift in advance.

Financial & Material Donations
  • Sponsor a Lunch: A donation of $400 funds a warm meal for up to 100 people. Tax-deductible donation methods are listed on the official Facebook page.
  • General Store Items: Physical donations of household cleaning and personal care items are always appreciated.
  • Holiday Drive: The annual Christmas drive collects household appliances and Prepaid Visa/Amex gift cards to ensure clients receive a quality item for the holidays.
 
? Funding & Governance
White Rock Friends programs are entirely funded by individual donations, tithes from the White Rock Community Church congregation, and grants from community partners, including:
  • Design Industries Foundation Fighting Aids Dallas Chapter (DIFFA Dallas)
  • Firedancers Texas
  • Dallas Tribe
Note: White Rock Friends is currently transitioning into a free-standing organization to expand its programs and secure additional funding.
